Inngot and its partner, international IP consultancy Rouse, have created a new online IP asset management toolkit for companies in the United Arab Emirates. The IP tools can be used by organisations of all sizes – from local start ups and SMEs, to multinational corporations entering the market – to quickly identify, manage and unlock the untapped value of their intangible assets.
Rouse and Inngot announced a new alliance between the two companies in January 2019, with Rouse making a strategic investment in Inngot through the acquisition of a minority stake.
The Rouse Online IP Toolkit is powered by Inngot’s innovative web-based platform specialising in the identification and valuation of intangible assets.
The intuitive, easy-to-navigate IP tools take a comprehensive view of intangible assets, covering trade secrets, contracts, know how, as well as traditional forms of IP such as trade marks and patents.
Once the user’s profile is built, two shareable reports are automatically generated. The first provides an ‘IP inventory’ which identifies and organises the user’s assets in an easy-to-understand format. The second report, a customised interactive checklist, highlights the key risks and opportunities surrounding those assets and provides tips specifically customised to the UAE market.
Users will also receive a one-to-one consultation with a senior Rouse consultant, in which results will be further analysed and recommendations made for forward action. In just three simple steps, IP owners receive the framework of an intangible asset strategy covering their entire business.
It is the first tool to be specifically customised to the needs of IP owners operating in the UAE. The tool provides an invaluable resource not only for local start ups and SMEs lacking detailed knowledge of the region’s evolving IP regime, but critically also for international IP owners seeking to enter the UAE market, where the legal and regulatory landscape differs markedly from the UK and other Western legal systems.
Sara Holder, Managing Partner of Rouse Middle East & Africa, says: “The bottom line importance of capturing and leveraging maximum value from intangible assets cannot be overstated. Our new online toolkit provides IP owners with a quick and reliable means of mapping and analysing critical – and often overlooked – intangible assets across the business.”
Inngot co-founder and CEO Martin Brassell adds: “Using our online profiling process, businesses can identify the ‘knowledge’ assets they actually own. With so much company value now concentrated in intangibles, it is vital for companies to be able to communicate and deal in them. Inngot’s mission is to make that process as easy as possible: combining our interactive online tools with expert advice from the Rouse UAE team provides the ideal solution for firms operating in the UAE.”
The launch of the Rouse Online IP Toolkit for UAE businesses is the first product of the new relationship between Rouse and Inngot, with plans already in place to offer Inngot’s suite of innovative online IP tools in other key markets.
The alliance helps cement Rouse’ position as the preeminent provider of IP strategic advisory services globally, not least across Asia and the Middle East, where the firm’s specialist expertise is long-established. Inngot’s high profile work on IP identification and valuation across Europe and Asia will reinforce and extend Rouse’s capabilities.
Inngot offers a suite of online tools to help innovative businesses identify, manage and value Intellectual Property and intangible assets. In addition to its IP valuation tools, it contributes to the international debate on how best to help SMEs in particular uncover and leverage the value locked up in their IP and intangible assets and offers bespoke IP valuation and technology valuation services.
