Work has now started on the latest "Beacon" project from the Creative Industries Knowledge Transfer Network, being led by Inngot, into the challenges of realising value from copyright assets in the digital age.
The project title is "IP and open source: maximising the value of your IP without alienating your fans". Its focus is on identifying and assessing the business models most likely to deliver value to the industries through the next decade. Over a six-month period, information and opinion will be gathered from across the sector using one-to-one interviews, round table discussions, workshops and online survey tools.
The work is coming at an important time for the industry, as a new generation of devices like the iPad are stimulating fresh demand for content, and government works out how best to implement the first phase of the Digital Economy Act.
